Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream packing is simple but informative. Unlike other baby products’ packing, it is neither very colorful nor attractive.

You will be having this product in a tube made of plastic.

On both sides of the tube, you will find information regarding the product. At the front, on the top, there is a logo.

Right below the logo, you will see a clear mention of the product’s other attributes like mild fragrance, hypoallergenic and cream’s ability to prevent and treat rashes.

At the bottom, the packing says that this cream is enriched with natural plant extracts.

The company highlighted that the product uses chamomile, rosehip, and olive.

On the back side of the packing, you will find information about the ingredients used and correct method of applying this cream.

In addition, you will be able to learn more about the precautions regarding using and storing this cream.

Flip-open Cap

The 50-gram pack of Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream comes with a flip-open cap.

To open it, there is space given and you have to place your thumb in the given space.

Using a thumb, you can easily open this tube.

As you can only open this flip-open cap and not the whole cap, hence opening this flip-open cap is the only way to have the cream out.

Texture

The texture of the Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream is slightly thicker.

You won’t notice any particles of cream on the upper surface of the skin.

It is easily absorbed into the skin. All you need is a – slight massage after applying this diaper rash cream.

When applying the cream, you do not feel any type of wetness, thickness, and/or viscosity.

Cream Forms A Protective Layer

A layer is formed by the cream on the top layer of the skin. Hence, the skin remains unexposed to any kind of wetness.

This layer is formed because of zinc oxide’s presence. This protective layer protects your baby from having this painful problem called diaper rash.

Ingredients Used

Now, let’s talk about the ingredients used in Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream.

Should you look at the back of the tube, you will be able to read about the ingredients used.

Ingredients like water, light liquid paraffin, white petroleum jelly, sorbitol, aloe vera juice, zinc oxide, beeswax, glycerin, shea butter, castor oil, microcrystalline wax, sorbitan stearate, glyceryl oleate, magnesium sulfate, PEG-30 Dipolyhydroxy stearate phenoxyethanol & Ethylhexylglycerin, Olea Europaea, Chamomile Recutita Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, and Fragrance have been used.

Some of the ingredients are really good, whereas, a few others are not suitable for the baby’s skin.

Ethylhexylglycerin is a clear liquid preservative that is derived from coconut or palm oil. It is used to prevent a product from spoiling. It also softens your skin.

Sorbitol fatty acids act as a surfactant. The use of glyceryl oleate is also safe. In infants, it is used to cure and prevent problems like eczema, dandruff, and dry skin.

As far as harmful chemicals are concerned, we will be discussing those, at a later stage.

Price

The price of Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream is also very high. Where other diaper rash cream brands are offering the same quantity (50 grams) for a price of 90-100 rupees, Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream will cost you around 179 rupees. This is a relatively high price.

Buying such an expensive diaper rash cream on a monthly basis can have a huge impact on your monthly budget.

Presence of Zinc Oxide

Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream uses zinc oxide. Although zinc oxide reduces the chances of diaper rashes’ occurrence by forming a protection layer between baby’s skin and wetness, yet one must see a doctor before buying any product that contains zinc oxide.

For your information, we would like to tell you that should zinc oxide be used more than the limits prescribed, it can be disastrous for a baby’s skin.

The Presence of Phenoxyethanol

The presence of Phenoxyethanol in Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream is a matter of concern. Even though it is used as an antibacterial and perfume stabilizer in almost all beauty products, it is still considered to be a very harmful chemical.

Hope you know that in some countries like Europe, the use of Phenoxyethanol is any beauty product is limited to only 1%. Should you observe the packing carefully, you won’t find any trace of related information; the company has not written anything about the percentage used.

So assuming that the company has used it in the right quantity, it is a bit difficult. Therefore, the presence of Phenoxyethanol raises a question on the product’s purchase.

Artificial Fragrance

The artificial fragrance has been used in the Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream. Do you know that the only purpose of using artificial odor is to hide the stench of chemicals used?

In addition, no company is under any obligation to tell you more about what all chemicals they have used to make this a fancy fragrance. The companies use coal and petroleum-derived synthetic chemicals. This is not a good thing too.

The Odor is Very Sharp

Although the packaging says that the product’s odor is very mild, yet the fragrance is very sharp.

This may be due to artificial fragrance used in it. Hopefully, you know that sharp odors cause discomfort to the babies. Hence, we do not support the purchase of Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream.

Packing is Not Sealed

The pack of Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream was also not sealed. In this case, one cannot deny the adulteration incidents.

Packing is Not Transparent

Pigeon Baby Diaper Rash Cream comes in a non-transparent pack. Hence, it becomes hard to judge the amount of cream left in the tube.

In this case, you won’t be able to know about the right time to order a new pack.

For better results, it is very important to apply pigeon diaper rash cream properly. Before applying this cream, one must dry the baby’s skin completely.

The cream should not be applied to the wet skin. As it is going to form a protective layer between skin and wetness, hence, if applied on wet skin, it is going to lock the wetness inside.

Do not apply this cream on open wounds because doing so can cause pain and is not recommended.

Should your baby show any signs of irritation, pain or burning sensations after applying this cream, please visit a pediatrician at the earliest possible.

Store this diaper rash cream in a cold and dry place. Never keep it in the fridge, because doing so can freeze the cream.

Finally, we would like to say that there are a few ingredients that can cause severe damage to the baby’s skin. Also, the cost of the product is relatively higher than the other available options.
