Product Summary
With three flaws (packing, page quality, and book cover), this is an awesome book. I have never seen such an interesting way of weaving a story using baby name's alphabets. This is an amazing concept and my kid really loved it. So far, it's her best story book until today. Thank you - lostmy.name.

The smile that comes on your baby’s face, the moment you gift them something, is priceless.

That particular moment gives you a feeling that is no way less than winning a battle. Although babies do love every gift they get, however, there are a few things that make them immediately hug you. This happened to me when I gifted her a very beautiful book “the girl who lost her name.”

About Book

Before I start with my review, I would like to write a few things about this books. First of all, being a personalized and customized book, you cannot buy this book from a local store; if you want this wonderful personalized book for your baby, you need to visit – lostmy.name. And, secondly, this book is only for the 2-6 years’ old kids.

This book is published by a London based, award-winning company, “Lost My Name” According to the company statistics, they have nearly 2 million buyers. This is an amazing number. Isn’t it?

How to order this book

As I said earlier, this book is not available in stores. This best selling personalized book is based on the alphabets of your baby’s name; in my case, my daughter’s name is “Japmann.” The ordering process was very easy and it hardly takes a few minutes to order.

To start with, you need to visit https://www.lostmy.name. Now, you have to look for the section that says, “The little boy or girl who lost their name” and you need to click the button that says “create yours.”

This will redirect you to another page, where you will be asked to provide your kid’s name, gender, and you have to select an avatar (3 options available) that you think best represents your baby.

Then, for the first page of this book, you will be asked to enter a 254 words’ personalized message. Although this is an optional field, yet, a personalized message from you can make this book a very special book for your baby. At the same, it can be a book that you would love to keep at your book shelve for your life as a memory.

After processing the choices you opted for, this will automatically convert that collected information into an amazing story-cum-poem personalized book based on the alphabets of your baby’s name. At the last page, it is going to be your baby’s name.

Packing

I would like to start my review with its packing. My book was delivered on the tenth day. What I liked the most was – the way lostmyname guys kept me posted with every single detail about my book. Be it about my order’s acceptance, publishing, dispatching, or estimated delivery date with order tracking code; I give full marks to these guys.

Delivery

Delivery was hassle free and the best part was – there were no hidden charges except the price of book and shipping was completely free.

First Impression

I must say, the team behind this book is awesome. We (me, my daughter, and my husband) really liked the combination of the colors that vary with every page, the cartoon characters, and the how wonderfully the team weaved a story around the alphabets of my daughter’s name.

On the first page, there was a customized message dedicated to our daughter (wrote by my husband at the time of ordering this book). On reading her date of birth and name, my daughter was very happy. Though, she made me read and translate the rest of the message.

Book Quality

This book comes in A4 size. I believe the reason behind its paperback cover is keeping this book as light in weight as possible. And, another reason could be, its’ target market i.e. kids and that is a nice thing.

I must say that the colors used in this books are of very good. And, the best thing is – they don’t spoil your hands, even if you touch them with wet hands. Once I was narrating this book to my daughter and accidentally I touched it with wet hands. To my surprise, there was no harm caused to the book. Its printing, colors, pages, everything was perfect. In the case of my daughter’s other storybooks, I experienced this problem.

Content

Although this book is meant to be for 2-6 years’ old babies, however, adults can like it too. I read this book too and I would like to say that the story was so beautifully explained that it reminded me of my granny and her stories. Guys! You made me miss my childhood.

A few things that I disliked about this book and some recommendation

Packing

The girl who lost her name message - packing
The girl who lost her name message – packing

I must say, I was not happy with the delivery pack. It was in a simple cardboard like packing. I believe packing could have been a little better. On receiving it in a pack, a kid must feel that there is something for him.

This cardboard like packing can be replaced with a box packing wrapped in a paper made of cartoon characters used in the book or there could be a soft toy in the packing or a toy resembling the cartoon character that we were asked to choose in the beginning. I mean, a product that is meant for kids must have a kiddish packing.

Book Cover

I didn’t like its book cover. I believe, instead of paperback, the book should have a hardcover. The reason being, paperback books are very much prone to damage, even at a little mishandling. As this book is for kids, and we all know what kids do to their books.

Quality of Pages

Another thing that I disliked was – paper quality. Although paper used is thick, but they are not damage proof; little hands can easily tear it apart. I think pages should be made of a material that is tear-resistant or at least laminated. As this is a personalized book dipped in the emotions and we want to keep with us for as long as possible. Therefore, durability is a must.

Price

Last, but not least, I think this book according to the Indian market is a little overpriced. However, if I had received this book as I suggested, then, no one including can raise a finger against its price.

In the end, I would like to say that this is an amazing book. For parents, the most important thing is their kid’s smile. This book has everything that can bless your kid with some memorable moments. And, this is going to be a collage moment for you as well.
