When it comes to buying cosmetic things for your newborn such as bathing soap, shampoo, talc powder, massage oil or body lotion, etc., you have to choose very carefully. A wrong choice can be a (skin) problem for the baby. In the case of baby products, there are innumerable options available in the market that are made from harmful chemicals. Even the companies claim that they are not using any harmful chemical in their product, but we all know the reality. In this situation, we have to opt for a product that is either herbal or made from natural elements. Keeping this in mind, I recently purchased Patanjali Shishu Care Hair Oil and through this article, I will share my experience with this product.
Things that I liked in Patanjali Shishu Care Hair Oil
Packing
I must say, Patanjali is very serious about their branding.
Their packing is very simple but elegant.
Be it their bottle sizes, branding, color combinations; every time I use their product, I love the way the pack.
Here, on the front of the bottle, you will find the Patanjali logo on top.
Right below that you can see the Shishu Care logo and holograms.
On the front, at the bottom of the bottle, you will see the company’s claim about having an oil enriched with natural elements.
On the back side of the bottle, you get full information about the ingredients, usage benefits, how it should be used, precautions for use, its price and the validity of the product.

Most of the baby products are packed in nontransparent bottles. This makes it very difficult to have any idea about how much product is left and when is the right time to order a new one.
But, in the case of Patanjali Shishu Care Hair Oil, you will see a completely transparent packing.
After every use, you can easily see the quantity left and accordingly, you will be able to order a new one.
Overall, as a customer, you will get every piece of information from its packing that you need before buying a product.
Flip-Open Lid
I recently reviewed a baby product with a flip-open lid. Trust me, opening that lid for the first time was a challenge for me. For me, it was very hard to find out from where to open. I was about to break it.
But, with Patanjali’s Shishu Care Hair Oil’s bottle, I faced no such issue. The lid was neither too tight nor too loose.
Patanjali Shishu Care Hair Oil‘s bottle comes with a flip-open lid, which is slightly raised from the opening side.
Therefore, it is not difficult to identify the exact opening location.
If needed, you can completely take off the lid.
I am not sure, but once you are done with this bottle, you can use the empty bottle for any other purpose like for storing hair or body oil for adults, especially when traveling.

Nothing To Do With Hair Growth
I have been using it for a long time, and I did not see any hair growth in my baby’s hair. Hence, I can conclude, this oil is fine for hair massage, but you must not expect any kind of hair growth.
Precautions For Using
We all know that the scalp of a newborn’s baby is very fragile. Therefore, before doing massage, you need to be very careful about a few things. Should you make any mistake here, your baby can land in serious troubles.
While massaging your baby, especially the head area, be very careful about the pressure on his head. You are not supposed to do it hard and you must not do it with heavy hands. You need to very gentle because too much pressure can damage his head.
If you see something like a cradle cap on his head, never try to wipe it with your hands.
How often to wash newborns hair?
There are medically approved shampoos for that. To have more information on cradle cap, you can read our article, “Common Questions About Cradle Cap In Babies.”
While massaging, make sure your oily hands are far away from your baby’s eye.
In short, you need to avoid the area around his eyes.
