- No tears wash
- 2-in-1 benefit of shampoo and body wash
- Value for money
- Not suitable for sensitive skin
- Takes time to lather
- Does not remove oil completely
Ever since my daughter was born, I was skeptical of buying products for her that did not have a good reputation. And I think that’s true with every other mother. I was in the confusion before buying Johnson’s Top-to-Toe Baby Wash.
I never bought anything from Johnson’s and Johnson’s regarding the rumors regarding cancer-causing chemicals being used in their products. But after a bit of research I found out that the company had stopped using those chemicals and I thought I could give it a green signal for using some of its products for my daughter. After all, a lot of my mom friends were using them as well. So I bought Johnson’s Top-to-Toe Baby Wash.
Things I Liked In This Product
To begin with, I quite like this product. The number one reason being that it does not irritate my baby’s eyes or skin. Although it does not say on the bottle that it is a no-tears wash. I used it on myself first (as I always do before using a product on my baby) and found that the foam does not irritate the eyes at all. I thought this was a real plus point of this wash.
Another thing that I quite liked about the product was that this gives the benefit of both shampoo and a body wash. This means that you don’t have to bother yourself with shampooing baby’s hair first and then using a body wash.

This is 2-in-1 and I think it is very practical to use as well especially when you’re travelling. It does the work of 2 things at once. If I compare this with Chicco Shampoo, it cannot be used as a body wash obviously no matter how much you like the product.
As for the price, I think it is decently priced at Rs. 290/- for a 500ml bottle. Now if I compare this with Chicco shampoo again, the same quantity of shampoo alone costs Rs 449/-. Seeing this you will definitely find Johnsons baby wash cheaper.
Things I Disliked In This Product
Speaking of the things that I did not like – first I would talk about how it takes ages to get the lather to form with Johnsons top-to-toe baby wash. You keep rubbing your baby’s skin with the wash but you will soon find that you need more of the quantity of the wash to get the oil off your baby’s body. And this leads to usage of more product than is actually required.
Also, major negative that I found in this wash was that it is absolutely not suitable for sensitive skins. Babies also have different skin types like us adults. My daughter gets rashes on the skin too quickly if she is allergic to something.
So using this did not really cause any reaction on her skin, but I have heard moms complaining that this was not very suitable for their babies as it caused excessive dryness on their sensitive skin. So I guess again, this depends from baby to baby.

Overall, I think it’s a great product that is budget friendly also. I would recommend it if your baby does not have highly sensitive skin.
How about you? Have you used this product on your baby? How did you like it? Would you recommend it to other moms?
