It is not always good to be suffering from fever or cold, but if you face this problem in the pregnancy, then it can be harmful not only for the mother but also for the unborn baby. In this case, you should not ignore any associated symptoms like fever and cold during pregnancy. First of all, you should understand that the risk of getting sick during pregnancy increases because in the pregnancy your immune system is naturally affected. Common Infections During Pregnancy

Urinary Tract Infections

Experts claim that 10% of pregnant women have to face urinary infection. In medical terminologies, this is a situation where a bacterium penetrates the urinary system and progressively multiplies. If these infections are treated with appropriate antibiotics and fluid in time, most of them become harmless.

Flu

Gastrointestinal Virus

Some dangerous infections occurring during pregnancy

Chorioamnionitis

In addition to fever and cold, this bacterial infection of the membrane surrounding the embryo and amniotic fluid may lead to abdominal sweating, accelerated heart rhythm, uterine treatment or abnormal vaginal discharge. Such an infection involves putting the mother under antibiotic treatment and giving birth to the baby. The child, after birth, will also be checked and treated with antibiotics. If this infection is severe or left untreated, the mother may suffer from pelvic and abdominal region infections, endometriosis and the baby from severe complications including septicemia, meningitis or respiratory problems.

Septic Abortion

Sepsis abortion occurs when the uterus and its contents become infected as a result of a surgically or medically treated abortion. May appear in the first trimester, and symptoms may include fever, chills, severe abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding, back pain. The treatment consists of antibiotics and the removal of the uterus. If left untreated it can cause septic shock.

Listeria

Listeriosis is an infection that is caused by consumption of food or contaminated water. Due to a weakened immune system, pregnant women are prone to this infection. It is not necessary that the symptoms of this infection appear immediately. Symptoms may occur a few days, even months after eating foods contaminated with this bacterium, and infection can spread to the nervous system, and untreated can lead to spontaneous abortion, premature birth, serious birth infect or even death.

The Fifth Disease (Parvovirus B19)

This is a common childhood illness. Common symptoms of this problem in adults include pain in joints, and irritability in the children (on cheeks), mild fever and swelling in the throat. Although the risks of this may be very low, some women may be infected with Parvovirus B1, and this virus can cause serious abortion or the birth of serious anemia.
